Zune disassembly

Post by nimbulan » September 12th, 2016, 3:07 pm

Can someone explain to me how to actually take a Zune apart in a way that doesn't involve a metal saw and a new backplate? No amount of force will make the clips budge. The prying tools included with the kit are useless. Even a hefty steel table knife accomplishes nothing more than damaging the case around the seam. I'm about ready to order a new back plate and cut the original one in half so it can actually be removed. I've taken apart a lot of devices and never had anywhere near this much trouble - even on an old calculator that was held together with molded plastic rivets.

Every single disassembly tutorial (written or video) skips over this part of the process. They just tell you to start prying at the seam then cut to the backplate being completely removed. What am I supposed to do here?

Send it in and we can do the job. They are not very easy to remove!

Having already bought a battery, how would I go about that?
