Ipod video 30gb rubber sticky peice under select wheel

Post by tom82 » August 15th, 2014, 7:00 pm

Hello, recently ive refurbished my ipod video 30gb unit. I replaced the front cover(black), tack wheel with red U2 unit, headphone jack/lock button(original reason for opening in the first place) and the screws since the old ones were stripped a bit from a previous battery install by someone else. Ok, so one problem im having is that the rubber bit that goes between the select button and the select button is missing. It was smashed up and no longer useful.

I need to either find a replacement part or im open to suggestions on something i can use that will remedy this situation.

Here is an image showing what im looking for.

If you send it in for a free diagnostic, we can see if we can replace that center button pad for you. Probably a $30-40 fix.

I have recently bought an ipod video 60gb off of ebay that was broken it was clear that the battery and audio jack was broken so I put new ones in and turned it on. Once i turned it on the screen stayed white i restored it on itunes and everything and still doesnt work and I dont really want to send it away to any place I just want the screen to be normal. When i first got it the screen was working so any one who can help me fix this let me know

You just need to replace the screen from what it sounds like.
