iPod Classic Logic Board problem

Post by doviux » February 4th, 2012, 3:13 pm

Hey everyone,

I recently ordered and installed a new logic board and hard drive for my 80gb iPod Classic. It had been broken for a few months and I finally got the cash to fix it. As soon as it all came together, the iPod turned on, and asked to be plugged into iTunes in order to restore it. However, once I do so (I run Win7), the iPod's screen reverts to hardware mode (or whatever it's called when it's only black and white and pixelated, instead of the smooth apple UI). It says not to disconnect for a moment and then says it's ok to disconnect, without ever restoring. Is this an iTunes problem or an iPod problem? How do I fix it? My computer and iTunes never even recognize the device. Please let me know if anyone has an answer.

Well that would likely be the result of an improper install or non functional Hard drive or Hard Drive ribbon cable. If you bought the parts from us give us a call or let me know your order number so I can call you to resolve the matter. Thanks!
