a few mini ideas

Post by hobo man » March 13th, 2007, 8:24 am

just looking at http://www.ipodlinux.org/Generations and I noticed that the color and the mini have the same chipset (first gen anyway)

so would it be possible to get color LCDs for the mini (perhaps from a mobile phone?)

also the minis hard drive is a CF interface so would it use less battery using a flash CF card?

cheers hobo

We always appreciate fresh ideas, however as far as the mini LCD replacement goes it would be next to impossible to find an LCD that fit in the mini shell, and had the same connection. Then you would have to write a whole new software system which supported the new LCD. Also, you cant display pictures on the mini so it seems a little silly to go through such a hassle.

However! compact flash cards have been successfully installed in minis without great deals of time spent. This is something that we are currently considering as a new option for mini owners.

Thanks
~Ben
