that sounds like something I would like to do, though I don't know jack about modding. if anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great.
Maybe windows mobile one zune, with substantial upgrades of course.

Looks like that one is far past the idea stage and is in the mixed rumors stage. I don't know if it is accurate or not, but check out this article for some information.
