Re: Ipod 1st or 2nd Gen Disabled

There still may be corrosion or something preventing you from performing a long press hold on the home button for instance. You could send it in to us for a diagnosis and we would be able to tell you why it can't go into DFU mode. We offer free diagnostic service here http://www.rapidrepair.com/shop...

Re: Motherboard issue

We don't sell the connector itself. That would be quite the tricky repair as well. Unless you have had prior experience soldering component level parts then you are gonna have a bad time trying to get that connector replaced. We may be able to sell you a broken motherboard that has the connector int...

Well if it is getting warm to the touch them it is likely a problem with the motherboard. We would charge $30-$40 to install third party parts for that.

Re: iPhone 4S backlight issue

Software backup and restore might resolve the problem. However most of the phones we see without a functioning backlight are broken due to liquid exposure or damage to the LCD connector. There is a slim chance that it has to do with the brightness of the backlight which is adjusted by the light sens...

The dock on the 80GB / 120GB units is soldered directly onto the motherboard. So you would have to replace the motherboards in order to get those units back up and running

Re: Problem with Iphone 3G

You can put the phone into "DFU" mode. Which will allow it to connect to your computer and take a restore. Steps are power phone on, reset it by holding power button and home button. Continue to hold those both for 4 seconds after it powers off. After 4 seconds let go of the power button. Plug the p...

Re: My iPhone 5 home and power button won't work at all!

Well those two buttons are on different circuitry ribbons. So take it apart again and examine those ribbons and the connectors on the ribbons and on the motherboard so look for damage. iPhone 5 power buttons have been failing already but typically that is accompanied with a squishy or non-existence ...

Re: iPhone 4 Touch Screen Issue

Examine the connector on the motherboard. There may be a pin damaged which is causing that issue. Especially if you got the screens from two different suppliers then the likely culprit is the motherboard.

Re: Ipod 4th gen Problems

With corrosion it is hard to say what exactly could be causing that issue. You should try resetting the device when it goes black. To really try to resolve the issue you should disassemble the unit completely and clean the corrosion with isopropyl alcohol. Be extremely careful when connecting the LC...

Do you mean you have sound but no picture? Then it is possible the screen you bought it faulty, but it is just as possible that the "professional" installed it incorrectly. Why did he/she give the phone back to you with it in non-working condition? You should ask them what happened during install an...

Re: iPhone 4S Display Not Working

Well how much corrosion is on the components? Typically when and LCD/digitizer fails due to corrosion, that corrosion is visible on either on the motherboard side or on the screen side as well. You should try cleaning those two connections with isopropyl alcohol and that may resolve the issue. If no...

Re: headphones jack issues - iPhone 3GS

Sometimes the audio processing chip on the motherboard fails. When the volume level changes does it show the volume slider on the screen. If it does not then it is likely a result of a faulty audio processor. You are taking good steps, report back after the restore, hopefully that resolves it.

Re: Zune 80 wants to work but doesn't

Well the first place to look would be the battery if the unit doesn't have enough charge to boot. It's hard to say if the whine would be caused by a failed motherboard or not. You really won't be able to do anything though unless you open up the unit. If you are not comfortable with that we do offer...

The 6008GAH hard drive would require the same modification as you described. We do offer a model of hard drive which is compatible and is the same thickness. This would be fully interchangeable with the existing 30GB hard drive you have. It is the 80GB single platter Samsung, here is a link to the p...
