multiple ipods on one itunes account

I have 3 ipods and my sons was recently stolen at school. I will replace it....will i have any problem conneting and downloading the 2000 tunes from the same account he used for the stolen ipod?

No, not at all. Itunes doesn't track too much when it comes to idividuality besides the main options it gives you when you plugging your iPod in (Manual Mode, Auto Sync, etc.). All you will need to do is plug in the iPod and maybe download updated firmware and/or software.
