iphone 3G responds to certain touch

Hi. i had installed my iPhone digitizer and i had accidentally messed up on installing the adhesive because of the plastic pieces on the touch panel that i didn't see to remove and they got stuck to the adhesive. My touch panel lays kind of raised compared to how it was before. could that be the reason why on the left side and right side of my iPhone the touch responds sometimes? Please help me.

Even if the digitizer is raised up slightly, it should still function normally. My best guess is that the ribbon cable was damaged during install. We have less than a 3% failure rate with 3G digitizers from our supplier, so it's highly unlikely that the part is bad if you bought it from us.

well its been working for the past 3 weeks that it was replaced, and then it just stopped working properly. but im going to get new adhesive and try to relay it again and see if that fixes it. otherwise ill buy another touch panel.

How much does iPhone 3G cost without eligable upgrade or new line? I am saving up for an iPhone 3G, then I am getting a piggy back sim so I can use it prepaid so I don't have to spend a fortune on getting out of verizon. When I went to the Apple Store it said $199 for 8GB, and that's the one I am planning on getting.

Had the same problem --- and fixed this problem. It was cable 3. After I reinserted cable 3 it worked perfectly...but I damaged the cable 3 connector or some other part. Now my proximity sensor is on the blink :( -- but the touch is perfect
