I was recently doing full screen swap (Lcd, Digitizer and glass) on an iphone 3gs. accidentally put 3g parts in instead. The whole phone heated up until the screen was removed. now with the right parts in the backlight will not work, have tried more than one Lcd. The rest of the phone is working fine. Any ideas?

I have a 2g Iphone that I purchased used from a friend. After a couple weeks I ended up dropping it and am now getting the following behavior:

The home button stopped working

If I can get it to boot up it shows service for 3-5 seconds then says "service unavailable".

The battery ran out and now when I try to charge it I just get the USB + I Tunes graphic on the screen ...

Much like the other posts, I replaced my own screen and most likely damaged the cable 3 connector (now the proximity sensor won't work). If this is the problem what would be the repair charges if I sent it to RapidRepair? What would be the charges if it is sensor itself?

iPhone 2G 8gb, bought used, unlocked etc almost 4months ago, all of a sudden randomly displays an error msg that says something like- "this device is not made for use with iPhone. Would you like to turn on airplane mode to reduce radio interference?" This turns the slider screen on over and over in my pocket causing the battery to die relatively quickly. (Nothing is actually plugged into the phone)

This error i get on 4 different computers with 2 different USB cables, And when i look into the Iphone's dock socket, i saw an metalvire that was pushed into the back of the connection slot.. ...

Hello I have bought and replace the power/lock and volume buttons, I still cannot turn power on or off. I do have a busted digitizer that cannot be plugged in. (have one on order already) I was curious if this has anything to do with the power/lock button not working.

I recently replaced my wifes glass screen on her iPhone 3G, now it appears that her proximity sensor is not working. I took the phone apart several times making sure that the proximity sensor was fully seated. At this point I am assuming that I somehow damaged the sensor when I took the phone apart.
