I would like to upgrade the hard drive in my 5g iPod Video. I was thinking about the 240 gig drive, but read that the board in 1st gen Video iPods were "problematic." Is it worth upgrading? Which drive works better, the 120 gig Samsung? Or the 240 gig? Thanks.

I recently modded my 1st Gen iPod Mini. Afterwards there have been many problems with it -- from the click wheel not working to restarting when I switch the 'Hold' button to off. My question is: will RapidRepair inspect my iPod and tell me what is wrong with it even though it is already modded? If it is a cheap part, I'll just have them do it rather than me possibly mess it up again.

I have an OQO Model 02 whose hard drive is dying (it's already got bad sectors on it). The specs on the hard drive is a 1.8", ZIF/PATA 5mm drive. (I'm not sure if it can take an 8mm drive, but since there are models with it, I suppose it's doable, but untested).

The drive currently in the OQO is a Samsung HS082HB (N2B model, 80GB).

Let me get this straight in my mind. Your 240gb HD notes a compatability w/ only 5.5G 60gb & 80gb models. However, I don't believe there was ever a 5.5G 60gb model produced by Apple. Please clarify as I own a 5G 60gb model (1st gen) & someday wish to upgrade to a 240gb... Many thanks!!!

So as i've been checking the specs on the 240 gb hard drive upgrade it says that the drive only works with the 2nd gen ipod video 60 and 80 gb hard drives so i was wondering if anyone knows if this can also work with the newer 160 gb ipod and also what the thickness of the ipod will be when upgraded to the 240 gb hard drive in comparison with a 160 gb ...

My son has two ipod touch 1st gen, one has a shattered screen, wireless stopped working- otherwise it turns on and everything works, other has water damage works sometimes, screen is fine. Can I send in both and you guys make one whole. Or should I attemp to swap the parts myself?

When the site says that the iphones they sell are unlocked, does that mean that I would be able to use it on a different service, or does it simply mean I would be able to use it like an ipod touch?

Hi, I am planning to upgrade my 80gb ipod to the 240gb drive you are offering. I currently have 200gb of music to load onto this ipod. I am curious if anyone has loaded this much onto their ipod and could tell me how it performs? I would hate to spend all this money only to have it perform like a snail and lag all the time....
