Palm Pre Exposed: Rapid Repair to Give Smartphone Fans a First Peak inside the Much-Anticipated New Device
Technicians Will Reveal Pre’s Guts to Analyze Performance, Create Do-it-Yourself Repair Guide

KALAMAZOO, MI – (June 4, 2009) – Rapid Repair, the most well-known and reputable national online repair service for consumer electronics, announced today that it will give smartphone fans a first peak at the technology inside the eagerly anticipated new Palm Pre device with a launch-day disassembly on Saturday, June 6. Images of the disassembly process will be posted to the company’s website at www.RapidRepair.com as it unfolds, shortly after Sprint stores open for the Pre launch at 9 a.m.

Rapid Repair technicians will expose and examine the guts of the device to analyze its performance capabilities and see how it stacks up against other comparable devices. They will use the knowledge gleaned from the disassembly to create a repair guide for do-it-yourselfers who opt to make repairs on their own.

“It’s inevitable – within a week of the device hitting the stores, new owners will already be needing repairs,” said Aaron Vronko, service manager at Rapid Repair. “Damage from dropping devices like this is common, and screen repairs are high on the list.”

Vronko says Rapid Repair technicians are looking forward to seeing Palm’s implementation of the multi-touch screen and how it allows the user to navigate a more robust device interface. In addition, technicians will inventory the Pre’s internal components to see which manufacturers are contributing to the device, gain insight into when technology upgrades can be expected and establish a basis for comparison for newer versions when they are released. Disassembly technicians will also offer commentary on the layout of the internal technology to provide guidance on the ease of do-it-yourself repair.

“Palm is iconic in the handheld device industry – this company literally put the PDA on the map,” Vronko said. “To a certain extent, this is their first legitimate attempt to capture a piece of the mainstream smartphone market, and we’re anxious to get a look at the processor and the memory on board to get a sense for the Pre’s horsepower.”

Images and commentary on the Palm Pre disassembly will be posted as soon as they are available at http://www.rapidrepair.com/guides/Palm-Pre/palm-pre-dissasembly-repair-guide.html and the do-it-yourself Palm Pre repair guide will be posted within a week.

In Midst of Continued Success, Expanded Services
Economic Downturn Means Increased Business for Company That Helps Consumers
Get New Life from Devices and Save Money, Too

KALAMAZOO, MI – (March 18, 2009) – Rapid Repair, the most well-known and reputable national online repair service for digital electronics, today announced the company will be celebrating five years in business as of March 2009. And, despite a bleak economic environment where companies in many industries have taken a hit, Rapid Repair is enjoying an upswing in business that has continued since its inception, and an expansion of services to include repairs for popular gaming devices.

“As a result of many people tightening their belts more and more drastically over the last several years, our business continues to thrive,” said Aaron Vronko, CEO, co-founder and service manager of Rapid Repair. “It’s a testament to the way Rapid Repair helps people get the most out of their electronics investments through quick diagnostics and repair that saves them time and money. ”
Rapid Repair is one of the longest-standing and most reputable outfits in the small electronics repair business for iPods, iPhones, Zune units and, most recently, for popular handheld and console game systems. To have an item repaired users can simply visit www.rapidrepair.com, click on the “Request Diagnostic” link for their device, and fill out an online form for a complete and accurate free diagnosis on most items, or for the low price of $19.99 on game consoles plus return shipping. A repair quote is completed and the user contacted within 48 hours of receiving the device; if the owner wishes to proceed with the repair, all that’s required is an email or phone authorization.
Rapid Repair not only fixes iPods, Zunes, and iPhones with sound issues, liquid damage, hard drive problems and broken screens, but also modifies them to look customized with colorful screens and faceplates. The company also sells parts, accessories, and manuals, and includes professional installation of parts at no extra charge. DIY kits for some of the many colorful modifications are available from them, as well.

Nationally-Known Technology Repair Company Owner Expresses Outrage; Offers Customers 10% off April Services as Example of Customer-First Commitment

KALAMAZOO, Mich., March 26 /PRNewswire/ – Rapid Repair, the most well-known and reputable national online repair service for digital electronics, wants to set itself apart from its competitors – in more ways than one. The company not only strives to demonstrate quality, customer commitment and affordability in its services, it also wants to be sure it doesn’t get confused with a recently-nabbed Kalamazoo-based competitor who was caught ripping off not only its customers, but also Apple, Inc.

“Talk about biting the hand that feeds you,” said Aaron Vronko, CEO, co-founder and service manager of Rapid Repair. “Here at Rapid Repair, we work hard to make sure our customers are happy, because they make us successful. It is hard to believe that there is a locally-based competitor in the industry who would stoop to such a level and not only lie to customers, but also, in the process, rip off another company like Apple.”

The competitor, a supposed iPod repairman also based in Rapid Repair’s home of Kalamazoo, concocted a scheme whereby Shuffle model devices sent to him for repair were repaired for free by Apple under valid warranties. Using a list of valid warranty numbers for the audio players, the accused would enter the number when submitting a broken but out of warranty Shuffle to Apple, receive a replacement device in exchange, and then bill the customer for a “repair” of the Shuffle – to the tune of more than a half million dollars in profit. The “growing business” employed several people to help with the mailing and receiving the Shuffles. The scammer has been charged with fraud and money laundering, according to a report by the Boston Globe, and is cooperating with authorities.

By contrast, Rapid Repair is one of the longest-standing and most reputable outfits in the small electronics repair business. The company not only repairs and services iPods, Zune units and other devices, but also modifies them to look customized with colorful screens and faceplates. RapidRepair can fix devices with sound issues, liquid damage, hard drive problems and broken screens, by far the most common problem. The company also sells parts, accessories, and manuals, and includes professional installation of parts at no extra charge.

To reinforce customer trust and appreciation, Rapid Repair is offering customers 10% off all services in the month of April. Customers can simply log on to www.rapidrepair.com and use the Code april10.
